Which also brings me to another important point, picking an active personality for your main two characters is a major pain in the A because what seems like a sane thing to do might spiral into an argument between you and yourself, and you get forced into rock paper scissors with yourself, and you F-ing lose. I used my one respec later in the game to take away all my personallity points and oit them somewhere usefull, and most of the time i would ether accept that i have to fight or save scam for like 10 minutes to persuase someone into something. Now the problem is, sometimes id have 3 and the opponent has 1 point, but no matter what i pick, the AI picks the winning hand 10 times in a row, and so my leveled persuasion doesnt matter. You do rock paper scissors with weighted AI (of course against you) and your persuasion points translate to how much points you get (min 1 and max 5 i think), 10 means success. And yeah, the main thing i didnt mentio is the persuasion system.or rather the lack of it. ![]() Sometimes they get you stun locked for like 6 turns and your main DD char just doesnt play at all, and later stuff like priests or demons get so annoying, just when you think you got them, you haste your main DD, give him a damage buff and he gets charmed, so now your jacked up DD just wipes out the whole party in one turn. ![]() Also some encounters might not be fair at all, you might think that being 2 lvls above would give you an adventage (since if it was the other way arround you would be deleted in 2 turns by a pack of wolfs), but in some chases it just doesnt happen. Durability is my no.1 complaint really, i wanted to be sure im good in combat and didnt spec into stuff like crafting and repair, so i would have to change gear every now and then completely for all 4 character, and somewhere close to the end all i was doing was searching for gear to change into because mine was almost broken. It gets better later, but early in the games many players might lose interest. Especially in the beginning, if you miss so much as 3 very hidden side quests which most casual players wont find withiut google, it gets almost impossible, and areas are generally leveled in such a way that there is only one optimal way to explore and play arround. Negatives: leveling is honestly poorly done, and not because of stats and attributes, but because of world design. Some NPCs can be spared, some cant, and in the end it all makes seance, something that seems like a good and wholesome idea might spiral into something terrable that you then have to fix, i for example found out like 3 people were missing from my ending because i forced myself into a situation where i had to kill one, and just didnt bother to complete the questlines for the other 2 and they just packed their things and left. Also your actions have consequences, ranging from minute things to getting f-ed over because what the hell did you expect doung stupid stuff like that. Also aoe spells are a kot more OP, which is imo more balanced because as much as one spider with teleport kills them easily, so you have to really think about what you are doing, mages cant tank shit, so you have to devise a tactic from it. Also combat for me felt better than DOS2, mostly because of more action points and (wierdly enough) less skill points to spend, because you are forced to mix builds or get really creative for it to work. Good: story and world building are amazing, especially if you played other games (lik divine divinity or ego draconis since it references those games a lot even tho they happen AFTER OS1), and the development kicks in hard, like, really hard, and plot twists just happen over and over, just when you think its straight forward it gets more intense.
